Breast lift, or ‘mastopexy’, involves repositioning the breast and nipple/areola to a more natural, perky, and youthful position. Weight gain or loss, pregnancy, breast feeding, the effects of gravity, and changes in skin quality all can play a part in breast sagging or ‘ptosis’. Implants may also be placed which can provide an even greater amount of fullness. There are patients in whom implants alone will lift the breasts to an appropriate level.
